Frida reimagines Frida Kahlo as a living, evolving icon, one whose image continues to move through time and be reinterpreted through the languages of other artists.

Each portrait places Frida in an imagined dialogue with a different artistic voice. Matisse's vibrant Coquelicots, Keith Haring's animated figures, Jeff Koons' balloon animals, Basquiat's raw graffiti marks, Kusama's infinite dots, Murakami's flowers and characters, Warhol's pop imagery, and Van Gogh's expressive bouquets become new worlds in which Frida exists.

Rather than depicting Frida as a figure belonging solely to the past, the series allows her to be continually reinvented, moving across artistic movements, generations and visual cultures.
