Between sun and storm - Acrylic on canvas, 60 x 45 Inches

$0.00

This painting delves into the complexity of human emotions, portraying a stormy voyage as a metaphor for life’s unpredictable journey. The woman controlling the sail, her face etched with worry, embodies the weight of responsibility and the anxiety of keeping everything afloat. In contrast, a carefree couple dances in the sunlight, unaware of the chaos brewing, as the storm has yet to reach them. At the center, a small girl smears lipstick across her face, holding a mirror and eating cherries, symbolizing innocence, self-indulgence, and the playful defiance of external turmoil.

The treasure chest, pulled from the sea and filled with iconic rubber ducks representing figures of strength and grace, reflects the woman’s effort to preserve her memories, skills, and role models for the challenges ahead. Together, these characters evoke a spectrum of human emotions: fear, joy, ambition, innocence, and resilience, all coexisting on the same journey. The painting celebrates the deeply human contradictions of struggle and serenity, chaos and calm, reminding us that life is as much about the storms as the moments of light that pierce through.

Details about the artwork: The artwork contains textures of acrylic paint on stretched canvas over a wooden frame and is varnished to protect the color. They Arrive ready to hang, accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity and a small note from the artist.
